George Clinical welcomes the development of the INVICTUS program which was launched at the World Heart Federation’s World Congress of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Health recently. The study, supported by Bayer AG and endorsed by the World Heart Federation, will be conducted by George Clinical in China and reinforces the importance of scientific leadership when undertaking complex, multi-regional clinical trials. Co-lead investigators Professor Bongani M Mayosi, head of the Department of Medicine at Groote Schuur Hospital and University of Cape Town and Professor Stuart Connolly from McMaster University, Canada are to be congratulated for this initiative, the largest ever global study of patients with rheumatic heart disease (RHD), a disease which currently kills approximately 233,000 people per year, despite being almost entirely preventable. For more information on the INVICTUS program please see the attached Invictus Trial Launch press release.
